A LIFETIME GUARANTEE

We do not make it complicated. If your properly cared for furniture fails during normal use in the lifetime of the original owner due to problems in either the workmanship or material, we’ll repair or replace it at our discretion. We can do this because we are confident that what we build will last.

We offer a lifetime guarantee because we know that proper care will ensure a lifetime of use from your wood furniture. Furniture items that are neglected or not cared for per our guidelines, do not qualify for our lifetime guarantee. Likewise, any damage resulting from misuse, abuse, neglect, alteration, improper moving technique, unauthorized repairs, extreme changes in ambient humidity or temperature, color changes due to exposure to sunlight, natural disasters, acts of God, accident or normal wear & tear are not covered under our guarantee.

TIPS FOR KEEPING YOUR FURNITURE FOR A LIFETIME

  1. PLACEMENT: Carefully consider where to place your new furniture. Avoid setting it directly in front of radiators, heating vents, or wood burning stoves as dry air can cause woods to dry out and crack.
  2. HUMIDITY: If the humidity moves out of ideal range, solid wood furniture could expand or contract, causing splits in the grain pattern and joints of the wood panels. These symptoms are the result of an uncontrolled environment and are not considered defective. If the environment is not controlled these conditions should be appreciated as an inherent characteristic of solid wood. Due to wood’s “open grain”, they tend to expand and/or contract in relationship to their environment. Indoor humidity levels in the range of 35-45% will minimize gapping, such as at the center or ends of table leaves. Seasonal gapping or minor cracks in the grain pattern of solid wood are considered a normal occurrence and should not be assumed to be a defect of materials or workmanship.
  3. PROTECTION & CLEAN UP: Simply dust furniture often with a soft cloth while following the grain pattern. Periodically clean with a mild, non-alkaline soap and water using a soft cloth or sponge. Dry immediately with a soft cloth and lightly buff wood grain. Avoid nail polish remover, alcohol, or other solvents. A high quality furniture polish may be used occasionally, but do not use polishes that contain silicones. Your retailer can recommend a polish or wax.
  4. LEAF STORAGE: Store extra table leaves in or close to table to maintain consistent environmental conditions (not in a damp basement or dry attic).
