Furniture Today Article: Fusion Designs triples footprint with first permanent showroom in Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS – Indiana-based solid wood furniture manufacturer Fusion Designs has added its first permanent showroom in Las Vegas, tripling its footprint in time for the January market. At 2,400 square feet, the company says the space will allow it to show its full array of product.

“For the first time in Las Vegas, we will really have the ability to make our showroom space our own and we’re planning to make the most of it,” said Marcus Bontrager, president. The company has exhibited in Las Vegas before but not in its own designated showroom.

Fusion will exhibit 16 dining groups, six complete bedroom sets, four living room groups and two office collections. The company will also showcase its Essentials collections, which can be customized in a choice of 35 finishes and ships to retailers in 10 days.

Also for the first time, the company will display its furniture in vignettes, which is particularly important for bedroom, it said.

“For years now, due to our space limitations, we’ve had to ‘short rail’ the beds in our showroom,” Bontrager said. “While this allows dealers to get a sense of headboard and footboard styles, it’s never ideal because buyers don’t experience the full visual impact of a new bed. We think it’s very important for buyers to be able to really stand back and get the full effect of what they are seeing, just as their customers would in their stores.”

Additionally, to inspire both buyers at market and shoppers in the stores, the company has developed a number of sales tools for use at retail. A new kiosk that displays samples of all 35 finishes will be shown to dealers for the first time, and one entire 16-foot wall will showcase all of the wood finishes, gallery-style, with large, 12” x 10” color samples.

“I’m really excited about the wall display because of the sheer drama of seeing all of our color choices presented,” Bontrager said. “We plan to give dealers the option to replicate it in their stores. The display reinforces our custom story, and the size of the samples gives shoppers great confidence in how a finish they choose will appear on the completed furniture.”

The new showroom is located at the World Market Center in space B-670. A ribbon cutting and grand opening celebration is set for Jan. 28.
